TAI EXPORT CHAMPION IN DEFENSE FOR 6TH TIME


The Turkish Aerospace Industries Inc. (TAI) has become the defense and aviation industry export champion in the country for the sixth time in a row, according to the Turkish Exporters Assembly's (TİM) evaluations for the year 2016.

It has also been listed in the top 20 of TİM's top 1,000 exporters' list as TAI Chairman Prof. Dr. Oğuz Borat was presented with an award by Deputy Prime Minister Nurettin Canikli and Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekci at a ceremony held in Istanbul on June 17. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was also in attendance at the program. TAI aims to increase its exports, which stood at $500 million last year, to $2 to $3 billion by 2023 as a platform maker and integrator. Continuing to expand its scope with new products and growing technological competence, TAI aims to play a crucial role in Turkey's goal of reaching $500 billion worth of exports in 2023, with an annual turnover of $1 billion and a turnover expectation of $10 billion within 10 years.

TAI leads Turkish efforts in aerospace technologies and is ranked among the top 100 global players in aerospace and defense industries. The company has five strategic areas of operation, including aero-structures, aircraft, helicopter, unmanned aerial vehicles, and space systems.

TAI contributes to Paris Air Show after 69 yearsProducts manufactured by the Turkish Aerospace Industry (TAI) will put their mark on the Paris Air Show, which opened its gates at Le Bourget Airport yesterday featuring the latest developments in the aviation industry.After 69 years, Turkey is exhibiting its first domestic aircraft since 1948, when the Turkish Aeronautical Association aircraft factory brought the THK-13 flying wing glider to the Paris fair.

During the event, the Hürkuş trainer aircraft designed and manufactured by TAI will perform a flyover. The aircraft's team departed from Ankara last week and performed test flights after arriving in Paris. The second Hürkuş plane with wing-mounted missiles and ammunition is on display in the static section. Aside from Hürkuş, another noteworthy product is the T625 helicopter that will be ready for flights next year. The 12-seat helicopter weighs 6 tons and will be used for both civilian and military purposes.

The TAI's T129 ATAK and ANKA-S aircraft, which serve as armed, unmanned aerial vehicles, are on exhibit in the static section. The ANKA-S carries two pieces of ROKETSAN-production MAM-L ammunition under its wings
